Our Mission
The Bio Career Xcelerator (BCX) prepares undergraduate students across California for careers in biotech, biopharma, and healthcare. We provide free hands-on training, practical career skills, and professional connections that are often not available in traditional academic programs.
BCX also connects the broader academic community with employers and collaborators through an annual career fair open to undergraduate students, graduate students, and faculty. The career fair brings together biotech, biopharma, healthcare, and community partners to share career pathways, internships, and employment opportunities. BCX is offered at no cost to students, with program-related expenses including housing, daily meals, campus parking, training materials, and other participation costs covered.
Industry-Led Training
Students gain technical, professional, and business skills through hands-on training led by volunteer biotech scientists, HR professionals, community-based career preparation experts, and business and marketing professionals.
Multidisciplinary Access
BCX brings together students from STEM, business, marketing, and other majors, serving more than 100 students each year and providing access to entry-level job training and professional networks.
Career Connections
Through our annual career fair and summer training, students build relationships with professionals and gain access to mentorship, internships, referrals, and entry-level career opportunities across California’s biotech, biopharma, and healthcare sector
